Usually begins at the age of 30 with the person being unaware that it needs to be treated. In its initial stages, pityriasis rosea occurs as flushing of cheeks, nose, chin, or forehead. Sometimes it can also manifest in neck, chest, head, or ear areas. Over time, the flushing increases and becomes chronic, with the face blood vessels becoming more prominent. Without treatment, rozacea progresses and becomes hard to control. The symptoms include pink patches, pimples, blisters, and sometimes uneven, red, rough nose which occurs due to hypertrophy of sebaceous glands and connective tissue. Treatment of rozacea (cuperosis) and flushing with the new Candela VBeam Perfecta pulsed-dye laser: It is very important to detect and start treating pityriasis rosea. Treatment is performed by pharmaceuticals which control the disease and reduce the inflammatory symptoms; however, barely affect flushing or enlarged blood vessels. This is where the new Candela VBeam Perfecta pulsed-dye laser comes in, essentially reducing and getting rid of flushing caused by rozacea. This laser is considered to […]

Older people especially often can have pigment spots at the areas of the back, chest, and external side of the hands. Increased pigmentation in many cases indicates premature aging of people under 50 years old. Which causes predetermine increase in pigmentation? It is melanocytes, i.e. cells producing the main skin pigment melanin, which are responsible for skin pigmentation. Melanin is a sulphur-containing pigment normally found in skin. Increased production of melanin causes hyperpigmentation, while its deficiency results in local or widespread hypopigmentation or depigmentation (vitiligo). Skin pigmentation is closely related with the vitamin and enzyme balance. The deficiency in vitamins A, C, and PP promotes melanogenesis (the production of melanin), and the deficiency in vitamins of group […]

Diagnostics and treatment Warts are tumours of skin and mucosa of white or light-grey colour with uneven horned surface that have the shape of nodules of nipples and form due to excess epidermis and papillary layer of derma. All types of warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) There are around 150 types of this virus. Certain types of HPV damage anatomic areas specific for them (common warts are caused by types 2 and 4, warts of the sole of the feet – by type 1 etc); however, they also can appear in the locations not inherent for them. How does HPV spread? By direct contact (common warts – through hands; genital warts, also called condyloma – during sexual intercourse). By indirect contact (through infected articles). Warts propagate through the skin and mucosa; most often, as a result of penetration by the virus into the organism through damaged skin during direct contact, especially if it is too dry, in case of skin disruptions, blood circulation disorder, or excessive sweatiness. The virus that causes warts does not penetrate deeper than the skin. How do warts look like and of what types can they be? Warts can be […]
